As of 1 May 2017, NanKyu JALT boasts a membership of 83 people across Kyushu. These members include teachers working at universities, public schools, private schools, eikaiwas, and other language institutions.

The Kagoshima node has a strong history with JALT. 

Kumamoto (41)

The geographical hub of NanKyu and home to its flagship event, the Sojo University Language and Teaching Forum (SUTLF), the Kumamoto node sponsors events on a monthly basis, usually at Gakuen University for the well-established PIGATE group.

The newest node in NanKyu, Nagasaki officially joined us at the JALT National Conference in Shizuoka in November of 2015. The Nagasaki blog can be found at nagasaki.nankyujalt.org.

Joining NanKyu JALT

If you'd like to become a NanKyu member, or if you want to renew your membership, you can do so via JALT's Membership Application (be sure to select NanKyu when prompted to select a chapter). Alternatively, you can send an email with your contact information and intentions to join or renew to your local Membership Chair at the address listed to the left. 

As a member of NanKyu JALT, you receive:
  • JALT's bimonthly magazine, The Language Teacher, which includes feature articles, teaching tips, book reviews, meeting and conference announcements, and job advertisements.
  • JALT Journal, our research journal, which contains practical and theoretical articles, research reports and book reviews.

  • The chance to join one of JALT's Special Interest Groups. You can join a community that shares your academic interest, help the SIG produce its publications and put on events, and get to know some great people.
